It is with great sadness that we learned that Frits Florin, former director of the UAF from 1969 to 1976, recently passed away. Frits played a crucial role in the history of our organization and has committed himself wholeheartedly to refugee students in the Netherlands. His leadership, vision and dedication continue to inspire us.
Last year we had the privilege of welcoming Frits Florin to our symposium where we reflected on the 75th anniversary of the UAF and the power of refugees. For this event he shared his valuable experiences and insights with us. In one interview he said aptly: 'The UAF's aim is primarily to strengthen the legally anchored status of refugees.' These words reflect his deeply held beliefs and the impact he had on many.
We cherish the good memories of Frits Florin and are grateful to him for his meaningful contributions to our organization and society. His legacy lives on in our work.
On behalf of the UAF, we would like to express our sincere condolences to his wife and loved ones. We wish them much strength and strength.
